Radario for shows and concerts
Radario provides cloud based solutions to automate promotion and sales of tickets for clubs, festivals, concert halls and shows.
VK Fest
This event was organized by the social network Vkontakte and one of the largest Russian dance music event organizers – Radio Record. It was held on 18 and 19 July, 2015 in St. Petersburg on the Gulf of Finland shores. More than 50 thousand people visited the festival.
While the main idea of the festival was to connect people not only on the Internet but also offline, we’ve used internet to inform audience that tickets can be bought not only in the box office, but also online. Organizers used social media for promotion (each Vk user received a special notification while opening their website). Radario platform became the main seller within the online festival community. More than 20 000 tickets were sold via the social media event page.
The festival is the first and the largest event of such type, its mission is to unite people, who communicate via social media in real life. Being able sell tickets via social media is an important feature for each organizer, especially those, who use SMM for promotion and wants to keep their audience united in social media groups and communities.
Tokio Hotel and 30 Seconds to Mars
One of the federal concert promoters talked to us about organizing well known “30 seconds to mars” and “Tokio hotel” tours and about his cooperation with Radario:
“Like most concert market players I was working with the large ticket monopolists for a long time. At first, I was completely satisfied with their service. It was expected that I was promoting their names at my own cost, pay a high commissions and have a very limited number of options for tickets sales management and accounting. Customizing these systems to my needs was very expensive, so I decided to find a company which wouldn’t have above mentioned negative sides.
During one of the meeting with my colleagues from “Mir” – a concert company (Krasnodar), I noticed a Radario booklet. We quickly organized a meeting and it was enough for me to understand, that I want to work with them. Low commission, intuitive online purchasing for users, integration with social media, technical support and customer loyalty did the job for me. We signed the contract.
Our first case together was 30 Seconds to Mars tour for 11 cities in Russia. We understood that their target audience consists of young people from 16 to 30 years old and our main sales channels became social network Vk.com and mobile widget designed to help young audience to buy tickets via their smartphone.
With Radario’s technical support we integrated ticket-selling apps to the social community pages and groups. Installation of each app took about 5 minutes. Sales campaign was on for about 6 month and statistics showed that this way of ticket selling is easy and understandable for our audience: you can buy a ticket right where you’ve found the information about an event.
First Russian city of the tour was Sochi. Couple of days before the show Radario team arrived to teach my staff on how to scan e-tickets at the gates.
Radario provided scanners with built in software, so each scanned ticket immediately synchronized with the system. It took from 3 to 5 seconds to check each ticket in real time, so entrance queue was smaller than usually. I would also like to note, that we had a couple of last minute venue changes and support team processed customer refunds quickly and according to our conditions.
We were satisfied with our partnership. We’ve launched sales for the following tours since then: PavelVolya, Apocaluptica, PolinaGagarina, Dance on TNT, Hollywood UndeadmTokio Hotel and many others. For example, Sales for Tokio Hotel concerts were launched in 14 cities. We’ve used official online tour group in social media and our website nagastroli.ru as main sales channels.”
Big Love Show
Big Love Show – is a large annual project of Love Radio, which is held on February,14 and takes place at the biggest venues of Russia. In 2015 more than 27 thousand people in Moscow and St. Petersburg celebrated Valentines day with Big Love Show.
History of Big Love Show includes participation of such musicians as Blue, Craig David, Madcon, Basshunter, Aura Dione, Alex Hepburn, Amelia Lily, Ivan Dorn, Quest Pistols, Elka, Sergey Lazarev, DimaBilan, L’one, Dj Leonid Rudenko, Nusha, Dj Smash, Timati, Serebro, Vintage and many others.
We’ve worked with this project twice this year and are very glad that organizers can put a good use of our platform tools. Organizers managed to increase sales conversion by adding ticket selling buttons to event website and customizing them according to the event style. Now users don’t have to jump to other sites and ticket aggregator stores, where they can be distracted with another event and as a result – never complete the purchase.
Sales are distributed between several channels: official website, radario.ru, VKontakte app and Radario mobile app.
Booking Machine Agency
Booking Machine Agency is a concert agency, which organizes tours around Russia, Eastern Europe and other countries. It is know for working with Alex Clare (UK), Dope D.O.D. (NLD), Architects (UK), Blessthefall (USA), Emmure (USA), Chelsea Grin (USA), Adept (SWE), Psyopus (USA), Arsonists Get All The Girls (USA), Dub FX (AUS), TesseracT (UK), After The Burial (USA), Eskimo Callboy (DE), I Killed The Prom Queen (AUS) and many others. Booking Machine organizers all Oxxxymiron concerts, which usually sell out lately.
Since 2012 Booking Maching is working with Radario and promotes it’s e-ticket sales channels. They use our easy sales management and reporting system and process all the work online. Their clients are now able to buy tickets in 3 clicks via each of the sales channels. The main target for the company is selling tickets via Vkontakte social network, so most of their ptomotion activity is being held there. On the diagram below you can see the effect of this strategy:

It is important to note, that sales via radario.ru and via official website are pretty much the same, however commission per ticket sold via radario.ru is about 2 times higher (in this case radario.ru also works as the tickets operator). So organizer can choose it’s own ressource as the main sales channel and stop relying on ticket operators and save on low commission.
We would also like to point out how events are organized on the official website of the Agency. They are sorted by each artist’s tour, not by dates or cities, which is easietr for the customer to find what they need.
Booking Machine uses Radario equipment for the entrance control. Our equipment makes ticket scanning quicker (no need to print ticket lists, check for duplicates manually, etc.), detects fake tickets and tracks the ticket activation (for example, if VIP-ticket holder will pass the regular entrance, scanner will confirm ticket activation in real time as well).
Booking Machine Agency also has the merchandize shop on their official website which sells goods via Radario platform.
Booking Machine is one of the organizers, which have researched their audience, knows it’s interests and works with it by optimizing sales channels to increase profit.
Electronic Family
Radario continues working with big music festivals, which is one of our biggest interests. Our long-term clients are Flow Festival in Helsinki and Super Bock Super Rock in Portugal. Each event has it’s own special aspects.
For example, Flow Festival tickets have been sold not only via official festival website, but also via the resources, which we’ve created specially for Russian-speaking audience. For Super Bock Super Rock we also created a separate website and integrated widget-button to sell tickets.
World-famous electronic music festival brings more than 20 000 people together each year to enjoy the most touching electronic music performed by world’s most respected DJ’s. In 2016 the festival will come to Baltic countries for the first time and will be held at the famous Tallinn Song Festival Grounds. Ticket sales are performed with technical support by Radario and all advance sale tickets are sold out already.
Cooperation with international music festivals requires integration with different payment systems sometimes. For example, while we work with CloudPayments in Russia, we connected European payment system Stripe for Electronic Family festival in Europe. You can check out platform widgets in the “Tickets” section on their website and the official EF Facebook community.
Festival organizers manage and control sales and promotion from one place now. They’ve customized the color scheme of all sales channels according to their brand color – orange.
We would like to note that festival tickets market is of a similar level between Russia and the Western countries. We managed to make a ticket purchase process very easy for the end customer – just 3 clicks. It also integrates with Passbook and other tools for the best customer convenience.
23bileta.ru
23bileta.ru is the first official ticketing agency in Krasnodar region. Founded in 2008, it now holds the leading position in the ticketing market of Russia’s South.
Our cooperation has began with a social ticket sales app for their official community page. Sales level wasn’t too high: using only one sales channel increased sales a little bit, but it wasn’t enough.
Early in the summer 2015 23bileta started using the complete Radario platform, which allowed them to achieve an immediate increase in sales.
Ticket operator started using Radario’s platform solution to sell tickets directly on the main website under it’s own brand.
They also installed separate showbill-buttons for each event, launched their official app for Android and iOS, where our ticketing purchase solution was integrated.
Within the first year 23bileta managed to increase e-tickets sales by 24 times and the turnover by 39 times. Average tickets price increased by 62,4%.
The most difficult part of this cooperation was building trust-based relationship. The fact is that there are almost no examples of cooperation between technological ticketing platforms and ticketing operators, so it took some time to explain to our partner the extra profit they can make out of this cooperation. This partnership successfully continues to this day.
This case is significant. Some ticketing operators are afraid that using Radario technology platform may lead to an audience loss, but this fear is unfounded. In fact, Ticketing operator from Krasnodar not only didn’t lose its audience, but also increased sales level by using several sales channels and the most intuitive purchasing system, which allows customers to buy tickets in just 3 clicks.
The Flow
The Flow is a music festival, which is organized at an abandoned thermal power plant called Suvilahti in Finland every year. Of all the European music festivals this is the closest to Russia and each year it brings together more and more visitors (about 70 thousand people in 2015). More than 100 musicians and bands from all over the world, contemporary art exhibitions, independent films and lectures are included in the program of the festival.
This year line-up is really great: Massive Attack, Iggy Pop, Jamie XX, The Last Shadow Puppets, Sia and many others. It is also very nice that organizers adjusted pricing by countries: for Russian visitors ticket price is lower that for others: 175 euro (13 644 rubles) vs. 9 900 rubles on Radario website.
There are several sales channels: festival website, radario.ru, Vkontakte app and a separate landing page for Russian-speaking audience, Radario mobile app.
The fact that there are multiple sales channels allows users to choose the most convenient way to purchase a ticket. Our priority is to make purchase process as easy as possible, that’s why it only takes 3 clicks to buy a ticket.
The same strategy was used in 2015 and the most efficient sales channel was an official website of the festival and radario.ru retail outlet. About 80% of all tickets had been sold via these two channels.
Flow Festival works with its client database very actively. This gives organizers a lot of opportunities to inform users, stimulate sales and receive feedback.
Using different sales channels in Finland, Baltic countries and in Russia, where we provide technical support for Russian-speaking audience, allows Flow to increase sales each year.
Summer stage
The owner of “summer stage” venue (with capacity about 1500 people), told us about his cooperation with Radario and some differences of sales campaign in tourist destination:
“Before we started working with Radario, we used notepads for ticket sales and marked sold seats on printed seat maps with a pen. Such an old school type of sales management didn’t allow us to control casher work fully.
In early 2015 we started thinking that it is necessary to make some changes. We felt a lack of comfortable online sales system with acceptable commission, clear reporting and a mobile purchase possibility. This is why we started working with Radario – they offered us everything we needed.
“Summer stage” is located at the center of one of the most touristic cities of Russia’s south – Anapa. Of course, most of our visitors are not locals. We always understood that it is very convenient to buy tickets on the website of via mobile widget for tourists. Tourists plan their leisure; they also plan their entertainment. The easiest way to do that is via a smartphone while resting on the beach.
Together with Radario we created a website based on their platform, launched box-office and online sales. Website was fully created by Radario team, starting from the design, to the show bills with purchase buttons.
We have never sold as many e-tickets as we do now. Electronic tickets market isn’t quite popular in Anapa in general yet. We will open our stage again in Summer 2016 and we are hoping to increase our sales with Radario!”
